Aspenhills Consulting was engaged by Metro Wastewater to assist them in designing and monitoring the processes used to capture data during the construction process, tie it to the BIM, and then integrate this with their CMMS process. Our work includes:

• Conduct interviews with maintenance personnel to understand processes and identify data necessary for use in the CMMS.
• Create data collection sheets using COBie formats.
• Establishment of the BIM to FM enhanced model process guidelines and execution plan.
• Monitor and verify the data collection process by the contractors.
• Link the completed project data sheets to the project’s BIM.

The final deliverable will allow the owner to bypass the 1 to 1 1/2 years typically required for populating the design and construction data into their maintenance systems. It will also provide a verified set of data that will allow the use of model based facilities maintenance systems that bring greater efficiency and operational savings.
